The real reason I do photography.
Life is hard. I know that seems like a weird thing to include in a bio on a wedding photographer's website, but if you ask me why I do photography, there's your answer.
Even after years of digging deep into my psyche, recognizing my own patterns, and seeing therapists, I still struggle with my mental health. It's one of those things that never goes away. I still feel deep dread from time to time. I still feel panicked that I will never be "doing enough." I still fixate on loss, or the idea of losing everything I love.
I have learned that the most important things in my life are the relationships I form, whether with my family, friends, plants, pets, nature, or even just myself. It's when I surround myself with these relationships that I feel truly in the moment.
With so many fears about the future looming over us, it's important that we create more opportunities to be in the moment, surrounded by our loved ones, in places we long to exist. That's the beauty of elopements and weddings. They should be meditative experiences that allow you to feel connected to what you most value: freedom to be happy and loved.

"I want people to fall in love with themselves and to be really proud and full of joy for the space they take up."
